1. Equality and Celebrating Diversity: We ensure equality of access to our services. We celebrate the diversity* of the world around us, and endeavour to ensure this diversity is reflected in our working relationships with clients and associates, eliminating prejudice and discrimination wherever it occurs. For example, we work to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness, by utilising associates with mental illnesses (overtly). We also work with the National Academy of Skills for Social Care, helping them develop their user-led approach, which involves us in qualitative research of the needs of the normally excluded users’ of social care.
* Diversity is the accepted term which encapsulates equal opportunities for all irrespective of ethnic background, language, culture, faith, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability or any other lifestyle preference which might be a pretext for discriminatory attitudes or behavior.
2. Community Leadership and Partnership Working: We work pro bono or with discounted rates for Cancer Research, Business in the Community (Entrepreneurship in School program - Essex), and the Royal Society of Arts (Social Care Innovation program).
3. The Environment: We believe that the pursuit of best environmental practice makes sound commercial sense and we practice this at all times. This is not just some policy statement; this is using our common sense at all times to be aware of what we do and how we do it. We are a virtual organisation and therefore don’t have an office and rarely use printers or photo copiers (unless hugely necessary).
